The Adventures of the Bubblegum Boy
Synopsis

One sunny Sunday, Bob, an 8 year old brat reluctantly accompanies his family- the Roys to the great odyssey: mall shopping. The journey is long and endless, through Mumbai’s urban evils like traffic jams and monsoon rains, yet it is truncated with Bob’s encounter with Hari, the magic oak tree who gives Bob a gold coin. Bob keeps it safely in his pocket as the Roy family enters the mall.

In the course of roaming through the kiosks and boring brand race, with his mom, dad, brother Sam and sister Janie each busy with their own sight-seeing and buying, Bob parks himself in the sweet candy factory. In the hope of killing his boredom, he chooses to buy a bubblegum with the gold coin. As he begins to devour the bubblegum and enjoy the taste of the ‘chewy’ menace, he blows a bubble. Boom! He is transported to another world – Candyland, articulated with chocolate streams, clouds of candy floss and ice cream mountains where gummy bears and other chewies dwell. And when by chance, he brings the entire Candyland alive, greater rewards and adventures await him as he is welcomed there by KING BUBBLES- the master bubblegum who governs the chewy beings in none other than Bubbledom.

Bob begins his sweet adventures as he explores the bubble beings, from the Dreamers and the Protectors to the Revellers and the Truthsayers that all sport their special magic. As Bob is thoroughly entertained by all in their gesture of appreciation, since Bob has brought all of them alive, Bob is finally presented with a give-away gift: the magic bubblegum that can trap every lie in its bubble.

To dispel Bob’s confusion, King Bubbles tells him what he has in his mouth is no ordinary bubble gum. It is the LIE DETECTOR. The moment one blows a bubble, the lie is caught, in fact trapped in the bubble. After witnessing some real proofs, Bob is excited to take ownership of the bubblegum. But King Bubbles reminds him that it will work only in the mall- where he got the bubblegum from. Bob doesn’t mind and gracefully accepts the gift from King Bubbles and is transported back to the mall at zero loss of time as time doesn’t exist in Candyland.

Once in the mall, Bob is the master blaster, as he begins to trap and expose everyone in the mall, from buyers and sellers to shoppers, kids etc. After his initial euphoria, it’s time to go back home which means leaving the mall and the magic bubblegum. Bob connects with King Bubbles once again. King Bubbles is indebted to Bob for what he has done to Candyland and is moved to present Bob with a proposition: Bob can keep the Bubblegum forever if he is able to trap one lie each from the five elements of the Universe: air, water, fire, earth and space. Once Bob has collected the 5 lies (that get automatically trapped in the bubble) from 5 different worlds and brought back the booty, he can have the bubblegum forever.

But it’s not that simple. If Bob himself ever lies, the bubblegum will stop working its magic!

Bob takes on the challenge –the world of powers lies in front of him. His secret journey with the elements begins, of bubblegums and bubblebursts.
